Model VT-1 Electronics

This shows a view of the interior of the Model VT-1 electronics compartment, which is the lower compartment of the electronics module. Due to the simplified design, the electronics associated with the unit are minimal and very easy to access. Three circuit boards and a 12-VDC automotive-type stereo amplifier are mounted on the inside of the door. Two other circuit boards are mounted inside the electronics compartment. The back side of the phased array is also accessible from inside the electronics compartment. There is no need for any weather-proof cables because all interconnections are made either inside the electronics compartment or inside the upper compartment which houses a laptop computer. A thermostatic-controlled fan is provided for cooling, and a keyed lock is also provided for security. (Click here for a close up view of the Model VT-1 electronics.)
