Model VT-1 Anemometer

An anemometer option is offered with the Model VT-1.  This consists of an R.M. Young Model 05103 wind monitor.  As shown in the graphic, the Model 05103 can be mounted on a tripod or tower placed adjacent to the Model VT-1 sodar system.  A connector is provided on the side of the Model VT-1 antenna cabinet to provide a means of connecting the anemometer to the optional Data Acquisition Module, which is interfaced with the notebook computer associated with the Model VT-1. Wind data provided by this sensor is useful for sodar QC purposes as well as for defining wind conditions at or near the surface.
